If you are interested in adopting one of our Bombshell Bullies, to start the process we ask you first download the adoption application, fill it out and return it to bombshellbullies@hotmail.com.
Once your application is reviewed we take the next steps to determine the acceptance of your application request:
- A home check consists of a visit by a Bombshell Bullies representative to your home. The representative will review with you such items as obedience and crate training, keeping the dog safe indoors and out, and how to avoid problems with your current dog and the rescue dog. The representative will also make sure that the home, backyard, and surrounding area is a safe environment for the dog.
- There will also be a supervised dog introduction between your current dog and the adoptee.
- The vet check consists of calling your current veterinarian to see about the care provided to past or current dogs in your household.
- A reference check consists of calling on references that you provide (other than relatives) to ask simple questions about what kind of care you provide to your current pets, or what is their estimation of the kind of care you would provide to one of our dogs.
Generally, Bombshell Bullies allows a three week trial period for each dog adopted, and we require a trial agreement to be signed. We will provide for this three-week period a leash, collar, food, a crate, and any veterinary care needed. You provide the love and care. At the end of the trial period, the leash, collar, and crate must be returned or purchased from the rescue.
Our main areas of adoption are within the Chicagoland area…typically within an hour of Vernon Hills, IL. Adopters must be able to attend the training program at Dogstyle, Inc. in Vernon Hills, IL.
Our goal is to place the right dog in the right forever home. If the dog does not work out for any reason, he or she must be returned to the rescue. We will take the dog back as soon as we are notified. Even after adopting one of our dogs, should anything happen where you are unable to continue to care for the dog, the dog must be returned to Bombshell Bullies.
